RECOVER / REBUILD / MOVE FORWARD
A broken website.
An open next chapter.
Your articles, images and ideas still matter. Let’s assess what survives, recover what we can and choose a better way to get it back online.
Discuss a recovery ↗Start with
what you have.
A WordPress backup, a database export, old hosting files or even a public archive can be a starting point. Recovery depends on the completeness and condition of those sources.
- WordPress content and media extraction
- Backup assessment and restoration planning
- Original page URLs and redirect mapping
- Static rebuilds for suitable business sites and blogs
Siteroo’s own relaunch began with a working local WordPress restore. Its articles, media and original URLs became the starting point for this static frontend.
Worried about
PHP2Shell?
If your PHP website may have been affected, restoring an old backup alone is not enough to establish that the site is clean or the vulnerability is resolved.
Begin with an assessment of the affected environment and recovery copies. A recovery plan may involve rebuilding on a maintained stack, reviewing credentials and restoring verified content. An active compromise may need a specialist incident responder.
A static rebuild can remove the public PHP runtime for a content site. It does not resolve a compromised hosting account, clean an infected backup or replace patching any PHP systems you keep.
Talk through your situation ↗A practical
recovery path.
- Assess the starting point
Identify available backups, dates, affected systems and the pages that matter most.
- Recover the useful material
Extract and review content, images, links and original paths without overwriting the source copy.
- Choose the right rebuild
Static publishing suits many business sites and blogs. Stores, accounts and live transactions need their own plan.
- Verify before going live
Check the rebuilt pages, media and redirects, then establish independent recovery copies.
A few good questions.
Can you guarantee everything will be recovered?
No. What can be recovered depends on the backup and any surviving files. The first step is an assessment so the limits are clear before a rebuild is scoped.
Can I keep editing with WordPress?
Yes. WordPress can remain a separate editor, with published content exported into a static build. An online WordPress backend still needs hosting, maintenance and backups.
What if I only have a Wayback Machine capture?
Archived pages can sometimes provide text, images and a visual reference. They usually do not include the WordPress database, private content or a complete working theme.
