You may have noticed push notifications from websites when browsing on a blog; the little subscribe prompt in the top right corner.

You can install it on your own WordPress sites with the OneSignal or other plugins such as PushAlert.

For this tutorial we’ll use OneSignal since it’s currently the most popular plugin for the job based on user downloads and other articles on the web. (It also has a free tier).

  1. Go to your WP Admin dashboard > Plugins > Add New > Type OneSignal (Install & Activate it).
  2. Go to OneSignal Push plugin in the sidebar & follow the setup prompts.
  3. You will need to create an account on OneSignal‘s site.
